Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated:
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Where the law gives you stronger rights than this policy, the law wins.
Cancelling a subscription
You cancel from the billing page, which takes you to Stripe's customer portal — no emails, no calls, no retention flow. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then. After that your account moves to the free plan; your documents and tables stay put.
You are responsible for cancelling in the portal. An email asking us to cancel is a request we will try to help with, but the cancellation is only effective once it happens there.
When refunds are available
Refunds are available in the following situations:
- A charge that should never have happened. You were charged after your cancellation's effective date, charged twice for the same thing, or charged an amount your plan and ledger do not explain. That is a billing error, and we refund it in full.
- EU/UK consumers: the 14-day withdrawal right. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, the law gives you 14 days from purchase to withdraw. Because you ask for the Service to start immediately, and it does, we deduct the value of what you used (pages processed at your plan's rates) and refund the rest. After 14 days, this right is gone.
- Whatever the law requires in your jurisdiction, as it requires it.
- A material change to the Terms of Service. If a material change takes effect during a period you already paid for and you reject it, we cancel the subscription and refund the unused portion of that subscription period proportionally.
- A refund issued under Stripe Managed Payments rules. Sold through Link, LLC, the merchant of record, may issue a refund within 60 days of a purchase and may issue other refunds where its rules or the law require. Its refund policy controls if it gives you broader rights than this policy. Docabra is responsible for funding those refunds under its agreement with Stripe.
When we do not refund
Unless the Stripe Managed Payments refund policy or the law requires otherwise, we do not refund:
- Partial periods. You do not get money back for the unused part of a month or year — cancellation keeps your access to the end of the paid period instead. This applies to annual plans too.
- Change of mind past the legal withdrawal window.
- A subscription you forgot about but kept using.
- Prepaid balance. Top-ups are non-refundable and expire 12 months after purchase, except where the Stripe Managed Payments refund policy or the law requires otherwise.
Overage disputes
Your full ledger is on the billing page. If you think an overage charge is wrong, tell us within 60 days of the charge at [email protected]; if it is wrong, we correct it. After 60 days the entry is final.
Chargebacks
Email us first so we can investigate. Stripe and Sold through Link, LLC control the payment dispute process and may refund, reverse, or contest a transaction under their rules. We may pause paid processing while a chargeback is being investigated, but your documents and tables remain available.
